I have been asked why i don't make room sprays , well i don't mean to upset people but i am going to be honest here.
I don't use them myself because i don't think spraying your room with a fragrance oil with either a alcohol base or a base that is silicone-based and then add fragrance oils to the mix is good for your furniture and soft furnishings
In the UK, the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire Safety) Regulations 1988 sets levels of fire resistance for domestic upholstered furniture and stipulates particular labelling requirements, if you have sprayed your furnishings with a spray it might not then be fire resistant . Also and it may cause staining.
Now the suppliers of the base oil say :
As with all product bases for Room Mists/sprays please do test your products on surfaces first to make sure they are safe to use and do not cause any damage. Fragrance can cause damage to surfaces so please make sure you fully test your finished product. The Onus is on you to carry out your testing first before releasing in to the market for sale.
Now i haven't got recourses or the knowledge to carry out these tests to make sure that these are safe to use on soft furnishings (fire safety) like the big companies. but i do research on products before going to market and its just something that i would not feel happy in selling .Now as i say this is MY OPINION ONLY but honest points on why .
